American Red Cross - Lifeguard Training

Fee: $200* (includes pocket mask)
*Participants who successfully complete a lifeguard course through SRPD and are hired to join our aquatics team are eligible for reimbursement of training fees.
This American Red Cross course is a combination of Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED, O2, and First Aid for Public Safety Personnel (Title 22). This complete course provides all certifications necessary to obtain employment as a Lifeguard in the State of California. Successful completion of any of these classes does not guarantee a position with SRPD. Pre-course work is required. For more questions, contact aquatics@sunriseparks.com
Class Pre-Requisites:
- Must be 15 years of age by the last class date (must bring age verification with them on the first day)
- Consecutive Swim-Tread-Swim Sequence
- 150 yard swim (6 Laps)
- 2 minute treading without hands
- 50 yard swim (2 Laps)
- 20 yard timed swim and brick retrieval from 7-10 feet of water
